My almost three-year-old granddaughter often takes me by the hand and says, “Come on Mema, I show you.” Creation sings to us the same thing. “Come, I show you all you ever need to know. Come and see. Come and play. Come and receive. Come and believe.”
Luther Burbank (botanist and developer of the Shasta daisy, among many other varieties of vegetables and plants) observed, “There is no other door to knowledge than the door nature opens, there is no other truth except the truths we discover in nature.”
The Apostle Paul writes in his letter to the Romans, “But the basic reality of God is plain enough. Open your eyes and there it is! By taking a long and thoughtful look at what God has created, people have always been able to see what their eyes as such can’t see: eternal power, for instance, and the mystery of his divine being.” (Romans 1:20, The Message)
Just the sights and sounds of the ocean bring my spirit a sense of peace that passes understanding. Swimming in the ocean is like being swept up in the arms of God. Witnessing a sunrise or sunset over the sea heals my soul.
For others, hiking in the woods or climbing a mountain provides opportunities for revelation. You know what speaks to you. Nature is calling. Will you answer?

I always answer! Loved the time I spent walking in the woods in Arkansas and down by the river. I think nature is the ultimate church.
